VOLUNTEER ARMY RETURNS!
54 volunteers - 1 month - 8 conferences - 4 teams
Our incredible volunteer army were made up of teachers, builders, doctors, nurses, accountants, engineers, pastors, students, photographers and administrators, all volunteering 2-3 weeks with a common purpose - to support HOPE: Global projects such as Fruits of Hope Academy; HOPE: Education training; The Village of Hope and New Hope Homes.
A huge thank you to the HOPE: Education Team, Caringbah Baptist Church, Kings School and Shellharbour & BHP team.
These teams travelled to Rwanda, with a small group also heading to Kenya.
Here is just a glimpse into the incredible work done by all our volunteers:
Fruits of Hope Academy
- Teaching at Fruits of Hope School
- Painting blackboards at classrooms
- Donations towards new classrooms and training centre
- Foundations laid for new classrooms
- Fenced the school
- Implemented first ever health screening program at the school
- 2 water tanks installed
- Donations towards downpipes and guttering



- House 29 completed including fit out, guttering, roofing and painting
- Building relationships in the Village of Hope and local community
- Finance provided for building materials


- Donations towards the building of New Hope Homes new orphanage for 30 children
- Repairs at Sonrise School where some of the children attend

- Training in ICT delivered
- Over 20 laptops donated
- Trained teachers and community members in dental health, ear health, speech pathology and hygiene best practice
- Trained 30 lecturers at Rwandan Teacher Training Colleges in Early Childhood, Special Needs Education and Occupational Therapy
- Trained upcoming young writers in children's book publishing in partnership with a Rwandan organisation - "YOULI"
- Trained 50 new Early Childcare Workers from rural areas
- Workshop on English and ICT for Business Communication delivered
- Medical checkups and health training in Musanze district
- Delivered training to 130 Early Childcare workers in English, Special Needs Education and Classroom Skills
'What's the Time Mr Wolf' at KIE and medical check up at Fruits of Hope
- Trained the teachers and leaders of 13 Australian supported Non Profit Organisations in Kenya
- Trained community health workers in HIV prevention strategies and supporting students with disabilities
- Trained Non Profit Organisation Leaders in ICT
